It is September (finally)... School is right around the corner. I've been counting the days for school to start for the last 30 days. Our summer has been really long. Moving from Kentucky to Michigan resulted in an early dismissal in the Spring and a late return in the Fall. Although we've been busy, I really need the first week of school just to veg out!
I absolutely loved the color combo at Color Me Scrappy this time around. I thought that it would be a striking winter page with a B&W photo. Since we are just ending up summer, I didn't have any winter pics to put with it, so I went with a stunning picture of my boys on vacation.
I am really pleased with the way this page turned out. In the past, I've struggled with splatters. I've been messing around with different ways to improve and I've finally discovered the secret. Really, it isn't a secret, but I first dip my brush in water and then into the paint. My pages are in a cardboard box so the paint doesn't splatter my room. Loving the result.
Another thing I've been doing lately is doodling. Sometimes I just don't have the time to get the sewing machine out, change the thread, change the bobbin, and sew... so, I've been doodling in the shape of a sewing pattern. It adds the same amount of detail with less time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
So fun, Lisa! LOVE your splattering and gorgeous pic! And stars are just perfect for a guy page!
