Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #1

I am so happy to announce that we finally got Color Me Scrappy off and running.  Pam and I have worked on this for a couple of months now.  The first reveal went well, with only a few minor kinks.  Those will work themselves out and the site should only be getting better from this point forward.

We love how our site is so carefree.  We are not sticklers to rules and they are very flexible in nature.  The whole point of scrapbooking is to have fun and not to stress whether the color match perfectly or not.  If you don't have the right color, don't go out and buy it, find something similar and just go with it.

Our DT is fabulous.  We really wanted to give some NEW women a try.  It seemed that a lot of the challenge sites featured the same women on their DTs.  By choosing women that were not on DTs currently or had never been on a DT raised enthusiasm for our site.  The result was exactly what we had hoped for.

I hope everyone enjoys the ride.

Our first challenge contains the colors below.

And my result...

Anyway, thanks for stopping!

Waiting Til Dark

I loved how these pictures turned out.  It was so hot on this day that the haze was still visible at sunset.  The haze showed up in these pictures, especially in the smaller one on the right.

So this was the 4th of July and I like the fact that I didn't use typical Red, White, and Blue.

This page was completed for Kraft it Up March Challenge and also Creative Scrappers (#199).

I started this page for CSI: Case No. 8 and also the sketch from Creative Scrappers # 197 well over a week ago...  life just got in the way.  So, I missed the deadline for both of these sites, but thought I would post it anyway.

Enjoy!

Nothing Can Seperate Us

I love this picture.  I had it printed in 5x7 and then have held it not knowing what to do with it, until today...

This day was an important day in motherhood for me.  It was the first day that I took an all day outing with my boys without my husband.  And when I say, all day outing, I mean exactly that.  I think I was feeling a little brave that day because I took them to an amusement park.  It really was a test for both the boys AND for me!  We passed.

Anyway, inspiration for this page came from multiple sources.
  • Sketch # 17 by Get Picky
  • Inspiration by Scrapbookers Anonymouse
  • Color by Color Comos Galore
The page came together much easier than my last.  I need to stop second guessing myself and just go with it.

Thanks for stopping

Dreamy Destination

Oh how I struggled with this challenge.  I combined 2 challenges in one and I struggled with both the sketch and the inspiration.

The sketch came from Stuck! Sketches and the inspiration from Scrapbookers Anonymous, both fabulous sites in their own right!

Scrapbookers Anonymouse wanted us to use mist, paint, or ink and masking...  well, I used all three mediums.  The background was first painted with copper stars, but when I put my pic on, the stars were to overpowering.  Next, I misted a template on top of those (which you can't really pick up in the photo).  That just wasn't enough, so I then used black ink to dull the stars.  The result...

Oh, and I just noticed my Nikon strap is hanging in 2 of my pics.  Oops...  it's been one of those days!

Enjoy

Remember our Day at Sea

Wow!  I need to pat myself on the back.  Two pages in just as many days.  Look out, I'm on a roll now!

The inspiration this time came from White With 1 and Bird is the Word.  This may be against the rules for WW1, but I had to add just a splash of color with the turquoise embellie.  It was too perfect not to put on there and I'm currently on a kick for using up old stuff.

Thanks for stopping and have a joyous day!

Joyful Memories

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything here.  I needed a much deserved break.  I haven't really scrapped since early November.  I went on a wonderful weekend with a couple girlfriends and managed quite a few pages.  When time allows, I will photograph and post them.

This page was inspired by Sketch #191 from Creative Scrappers as well as color and title inspiration from 123 Challenge.

I was surprised at how quickly this page came together.  I guess scrapbooking is a lot like riding a bike, you just never forget.

Thanks for stopping and leaving a comment!
