Stunning - Creative Scrappers

I just fell in love with this sketch from Creative Scrappers.

To be honest, I haven't participated in many challenges lately.  Basically, I've been just performing my DT duties and of course, running Color Me Scrappy.  But now that I've given up the reigns at CMS, I am going to have more time to create the pages I want to create.

Life is pretty busy right now.  We just bought a fixer upper cabin, so the DIY projects there alone will keep me busy too.  If you would like to follow along on our cabin re-do, I'm blogging about that to.  You can find the blog HERE.

Now, onto my page for Creative Scrappers.

Ok, so the first thing I'd like to mention is that my sewing machine was being very temperamental on this day!  It kept knotting up on me and just would not sew, so I just doodled the black frame around the page.  Not my ideal way to do it, but sometimes you just have to improvise.

Sometimes, I struggle with randomness.  I'm more of a uniform type of person, so for me to "randomly" place bling and stars is a stretch.  I'm never happy with this!

Well, thanks for stopping by!

you. me. - Challenge YOUrself #6

Welcome back to the May challenge of Challenge YOUrself!  The participation has been fabulous so far with this new challenge blog.  We hope it continues to grow!

This month, Challenge YOUrself is challenging you to create a layout about YOU and a female in your life.  The month of May contains Mother's Day, but it doesn't necessarily have to be about you and your mom.  It can be a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother or a friend.

In addition to the always required picture of YOURSELF, you must use the sketch below:

I chose to create a page with my friend Pam.  Most of the time, when Pam and I get together, we scrapbook.  With that being said, there are very few pictures of Pam and I together, because to be honest, who want to scrapbook a picture of you scrapbooking?  It sounds like one of those endless circles.

Pam and I have been friends for a long time.  We met when I still worked and neither of us scrapbooked.  After I had kids, and quit working, we went our separate ways, but reconnected and found out that we both enjoyed this new hobby.  It's been non-stop ever since!

Thanks for stopping by!

US Falls - CMS #61

Well hello everyone.  Today, I'm featuring a new challenge at Color Me Scrappy.

This color palette was extremely difficult for me.  I struggle with any shade of purple and to be honest, I avoid it like the plaque.  But, since I am on the DT for CMS, I'm doing this page.

My supply of pinks and purples is very limited since I have 2 boys and I'm really not that much of a girlie girl.  In fact, I'm somewhat of a tomboy and a DIYer.

Either way, here is the latest from my scrappy space...

And a couple detail shots...

Skybox - CMS Challenge #60

Hello everyone.  I know that a lot of you are just coming back or just leaving for Spring Break.  Have fun and travel safe.

We had our Spring Break last week, but didn't travel anywhere.  But, that doesn't mean I wasn't busy.  The weather is really starting to warm up nicely and we've been outside enjoying it.  There were a couple of days there were I only saw my boys for meal time.  They were loving it!

This next challenge for Color Me Scrappy is a pleasant surprise.  It is Spring here, but I know that there are followers living in places around the world that are going into fall.  I think this color palette can work well for either of those seasons, and maybe even a beach layout.

Hope you have fun with it!

Here is my take on it...

Hagrid - Challenge YOUrself #5

Hello everyone.  I hope this post finds everyone well and in good spirits.

We've had some wonderful days of spring here in Michigan.  We are loving the sunshine and the warmer weather.  My boys have been outside the last 2 days ALL day.  They've come in for meals and when the sun goes down.  They are loving the warmer weather as much as I am!

This time around at Challenge YOUrself, the requirement is to use at least THREE trendy things on your page.  Really, the possibilities are endless.

I used:

TRIANGLES
NEWSPAPER PRINT
FRAMES

And here is my result...

Looks like my picture got cut off a bit...  oops...  I just noticed that!

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping over.

Power House - Challenge #58

This challenge at CMS was so much fun.  I got to do a step by step process with this page.  It was my first one and I really enjoyed myself.  Make sure you check out the post to see the details of how I made this page...

Here is the result and some close up shots.

The picture was taken below Niagara Falls.  From the best of my knowledge, this deserted building used to be a power plant.

I've gotten away from journalling for a while and I really miss seeing it on those pages.  My new goal is to journal on every page.

Keep Calm and Hide - Challenge YOUrself #4

Challenge #4 at Challenge YOUrself

What drives you?  What makes you happy?
Is it hanging with the family and friends, gardening, shopping, running, reading, working, traveling, etc...
Challenge YOUrself #4: Keep Calm And __________
Create a layout using the quote "Keep Calm and______"
<<<  Cannot be scrapbooking related!  >>>
Remember to include YOU in the photo ;)

Oh boy, when I first started on this challenge, I had a hard time coming up with what it is I like to do when I'm trying to stay calm.  To be honest, I'm an even keel type of person.  There really isn't anything really puts me over the edge.

I also like to do A LOT of things.  I like to read, I like to run, I like to decorate, but most of all, I like to scrapbook, but if you read the rules above, you can't use that!

I wanted to use some of my scraps, so I thought I'd throw a bunch of misc papers to the BG and see what stuck.  Here is what I came up with.

Technically, my title is Keep Calm & Hide, because every time I sit down to read, one of my boys just has to have a question answered...

I attacked my paper scraps to see what looked together.  I knew that I wanted a miss match type of look.

Stephen King is my favorite author.  I collect his books.

Closer look at the title (above and below)
