Star

Oh, it took me a while to even like this layout, but in the end, I'm very pleased with the result.  I don't think it was the best decision to use a solid background, but there is enough going on, that it is almost like it's not there.

Designed for Scrapbook Challenges, sketch #250 and The Paper Variety Polka Dot Challenge

The result...

I really struggle with mixing up different fonts for titles and such, but I'm really pleased with this one.

Scraplifted this brad circle from another site.  I think it turned out good.

Comments please!

Balance Act

This page was designed using the sketch from Inspired Blueprints.  I like this sketch so much, I might be using it again and again.

I am pleased with the way this LO turned out.  It might be because of the pink and purple I very rarely get to use.  Instead of pulling the black from their leotards, I pulled the purple from the tree, but grounded the LO using a black matte on the 2 smaller prints.

Glittery stickers and painted chipboard for the title.

The photo doesn't really do it justice, but I embossed the large and some of the smaller flowers of the background to make it pop.

Comments, good or bad, are appreciated.

Slimy Fun

Another great inspiration from Let's Scrap.

So, I'm not in love with the result.  It seems a bit bland to me, but I do love the bling pumpkin I found at Hobby Lobby.  Maybe it's my pictures.  They seem dark today...  maybe it's the weather.  Raining cats and dogs here today.  A good day to scrapbook.

Kids (Again)

This post was inspired by Let's Scrap.  Most of their layouts are 2 pages, which I usually have a hard time doing.  I also find it difficult to put more than 2 pictures on a page.  But, to my surprise, I managed a one page layout with 6 pictures.  Might even be a record!

My interpretation...

My ABC Journey

Created for Color Combos Galore # 187...  I love the color combinations that this site comes up with.  Some I would never put together on my own.

The inspiration...

In addition to the colors, we had to use a wet medium.  I chose paint.  I created a painted border around the edge of the background paper.

This is my first page of a new album all about me.  Since I am the photographer of the family and the scrapbooker, I am very rarely the subject of any pages.  Time to turn a corner and scrapbook me.

Before and Afters... Part 1

As I mentioned before, I was going to be working on some before and afters.  These are a few of the pages I've done.  I didn't totally redo them, just added some embellishments to make them a bit more lively!

Still not my favorite pages of all time, but definately an improvement.

Stay Posted

I've been away from my blog for a bit now.  Took a wonderful vacation with my 2 boys to Arizona to see family in Pheonix.  We saw everything from there to the Grand Canyon.  Everyday was busy with activities and there were plenty of opportunity for picture taking.  Those will be coming soon, but first thing on the list is putting my albums back together.  Yup, you heard me right.  Before our vacation, my storage shelf took a tumble along with all my albums.  Some survived, but others were sadly lost.  The pages themselves survived, but the actual albums tore apart.  As I start to put these together, I have found that there are pages that are not done to my satisfaction.  I am going to add some "stuff".  For a while, i will be posting before and after pictures of these pages.  Sit back and enjoy the ride...
