Diamondback Gulch

This was taken on vacation with my boys out to Arizona.  We had a blast and the boys loved the jeep ride.  I loved the scenery!  Breathtaking!

This page was designed with Sketch #76 from Sketches in Thyme.

I don't do very many 2 page LOs, but this one just popped together pretty easily for me.  Maybe it was because of the wonderful May kit I received from Peace, Love & Scrapbooking.  Inspiration just poured out of the box when I opened it.  My husband even commented about the smile on my face.  He knew I wanted to play!!  LOL!

Great Escape

Ok, so I lied!  I just said yesterday that I wouldn't have time to scrap because of my pending move...  Well, my husband took the boys fishing.  Needless to say, I didn't want to go.  Gee, what would I rather be doing with 2 - 3 hours of uninterrupted time???

Funny you should ask...  My May kit from Peace, Love, & Scrapbooking came in the mail today.  The creative juices really started pumping, so the minute the boys pulled out of the drive-way, I was on the internet searching for challenges that would go with this color scheme.

I found CSI, Case No. 17 and then the sketch from Creative Scrappers (205).  I was off and running...

About 2 hours later (with extra time for a potty break and a fight with my sewing machine), I produced this one...

Thanks for stopping by.  Make sure to say hello!

Moving (again)...

I'm going to apologize in advance for my lack of blogging.  Between now and the end of July will be very limited.

We are in the process of moving from Kentucky to Michigan with a tentative move date of June 2.  I've been trying to get ahead of the game so that my challenge blog, Color Me Scrappy, moves along without a hitch.  I'm relying on my partner Pam to hold down the fort!

I'm working on pages that will be revealed through the month of July because my scrappy time will be VERY limited!  I'm hoping to unpack my scrappy stuff by the end of June, which will give me about a month to get back into the swing of things.  We also have a 10 day vacation planned for July, so scrapbooking time will be even less!  I find it hard to get a groove when I take time off.

My current plan, at the moment, is to figure out paint colors, granite for the kitchen and baths, trim, and new furniture.  I'm hoping for a few more pages mixed in there somewhere...  as soon as I receive my May kit from Peace, Love & Scrapbooking!!

Peace, Love & Scrapbooking

You have to check out this new kit club!

Peace, Love & Scrapbooking

They just started shipping kits the 1st of April.  I got one!  Check out the two pages I've done so far with the supplies.  So much came in this kit, I probably have another 2 or 3 pages to make from all the goodies!

Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #2

Nature is Man's Teacher

This trip was to the Grand Canyon.  Eric had to work, so I adventured out, across the country with my 2 amazing boys!  They were so good on this trip.  Their eyes full of wonder and awe.  It was funny, because we traveled so long to see the Grand Canyon and all they really wanted to do was play on some rocks.  I asked my oldest, "Do you realize what you are missing right now?"  I got the deer in the headlights look...

Anyway, this page was following the color scheme at Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #2.

Funny story about this challenge.  Pam was on a weekend trip with another girlfriend and she sent me a pic of her result...  she used the same paper I had started to use, so I had to scrap (or should I say toss) that and start over.  I didn't like anything I put on the page after that.

Thanks for stopping!

Who knew?

Some time ago, my friend Pam came across a blog that featured a woman who I considered a little bit nutty.  As a scrapbooker, I think that the conventional way to scrapbook would go something like this:
  1. pick out a picture
  2. choose coordinating paper
  3. consider possible layouts
  4. choose embellies
  5. glue it all down
Well, this woman (and I wish I could remember or find her site) did everything backwards.  Well, maybe not backwards, but at least MY #1 was her #5.

Anyway, the point of my story is this.  She wasn't nutty at all and if anything, I was wrong.  Recently, I was so very excited to go and spend a night scrapbooking with Pam.  With everything else going on in my life (selling a house and moving from Kentucky to Michigan), I had little time to pack for this fabulous evening!  Pam tells me to just bring my embellies and paper and she would have all the tools I would need.  Well, I just did that...  I packed what I thought I would need, minus my pictures.  I realized this when I was an hour from home and there was no turning back.

Well, I wasn't going to let this ruin my evening.  I was bound and determined to make this work.  I ended up loving everything I did.  We've all had those evenings where not everything was a hit and that some pages were just so-so.  This, was not the case.

I added the photos after I got home.  I love them!

I so enjoyed this way of scrapbooking, I may just have to incorporate this as my norm.  You should give it a try, you might be surprised!

Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #1

I am so happy to announce that we finally got Color Me Scrappy off and running.  Pam and I have worked on this for a couple of months now.  The first reveal went well, with only a few minor kinks.  Those will work themselves out and the site should only be getting better from this point forward.

We love how our site is so carefree.  We are not sticklers to rules and they are very flexible in nature.  The whole point of scrapbooking is to have fun and not to stress whether the color match perfectly or not.  If you don't have the right color, don't go out and buy it, find something similar and just go with it.

Our DT is fabulous.  We really wanted to give some NEW women a try.  It seemed that a lot of the challenge sites featured the same women on their DTs.  By choosing women that were not on DTs currently or had never been on a DT raised enthusiasm for our site.  The result was exactly what we had hoped for.

I hope everyone enjoys the ride.

Our first challenge contains the colors below.

And my result...

Anyway, thanks for stopping!
