Just Visitors - SIT

I fell in love with this sketch as soon as I saw it from Sketches in Thyme (104).  The only problem is I don't normally take more than a couple of pictures of a subject.  How would I do this sketch if I didn't have multiple pictures?

Years ago, and when I say years, I'm talking probably 7 years ago or more.  I saw a page in Creating Keepsakes where they took the same picture and printed it out if different hues.  I fell in love with it then and I certainly still love it now!

Here is my take on the sketch...

Runners - CMS #34

Look at me go with the pink challenges.  I rock, right?  I use pink very rarely, but lately, I've been loving the result!

This challenge was from Color Me Scrappy!  Who doesn't love a color challenge, anyway?  And this one screamed SPRING to me... which, by the way, is right around the corner...  woohoo!  These dark, gloomy Michigan days are really starting to get to me.

The twist this time around was to use tags and/or stitching.

I struggle with tags, so I skipped that little bit and went right for the stitching!  I love to stitch on pages.  I think it really gives the page a little something special.  It can be as simple as a border or you can really go crazy with some of the templates that are available out there.

Here is my take on this challenge...

I've been carrying around this pink cherry paper FOREVER waiting for the right page.  Perfect, right?

The wings are Tim Holtz grungeboard.

A close up of my messy stitching.

Obstacle - CMS #33

Sorry for the delay of this post.  My husband and I took the kiddos to Chicago for the weekend.  We are home now, laundry is started, kids are playing nicely, husband is at the gym and I have a few minutes to sit down and write this post...

This is for Color Me Scrappy.  We are starting our third term and I'm happy to say that this term will fall during our 1 year anniversary.  I'm sure there will be something exciting planned.

I loved the colors of this challenge and the sketch was a great one.  I struggle to put more than 2 pictures on a page, but am pleased with the result of this one.

And the sketch...

Here is mine...

These pictures were from my first Warrior Dash.  I'm on schedule to do my 3rd this summer.

I struggled with this sketch at first just because there were 3 pictures.  I was also trying to come up with a unique was to do the sunburst.  I think the sunburst is, by far, my favorite part of this page.  The stitching was actually an afterthought.  It wasn't in the original plan, but after I put the papers behind the black frame, it looked a bit bland.

I wrapped an arrow with washi tape here.

Alcatraz - CMS #32

Whoa, take a look at this challenge...  it's the current challenge at Color Me Scrappy!

Let's be honest!

I was terrified of this color palette.  Hi, have we met?  My name is Lisa and I don't do pink!  I don't wear pink, I don't own anything pink, I've never liked pink.  Really?  A pink challenge?

Well, as it turns out, I'm pretty good at pink.  Maybe I should give it a second chance...

Sorry about the picture quality...  I live in Michigan and haven't seen the sun in quite some time!

Have I mentioned I LOVE modeling paste?  Well, I do.  I put quite a thick coat of it here and had to let it dry overnight.  I'm in love with the result!

More Pages - San Francisco

So, I'm still trying to catch up with all the pages that I've completed in the past few weeks.  Here are a few from our trip to San Francisco.

With this batch, this puts me at 24.

For this one, I cut out the letters on my Cricut and then used the negative.  We had a blast riding around the city on the cable car, getting off at various attractions.  No need for a car in this city.

This was taken at Golden Gate State Park.  It was difficult to really get a good photo because of the wind.  I really needed to use a tripod, but didn't have one...  next best thing?  A fence post!

I love this photo of me.  We were climbing up Lombard Street here.  And yes, it was my birthday.  This was my 40th.  Eric and I went to Napa as well.

Waiting for the cable car!

We couldn't get over the angles of Lombard Street.  The garage door had at least a foot and a half difference from one end to the other.  Wow!

My favorite part of this trip was our tour of Alcatraz.  The history... amazing.  I loved how it looked so beautiful from a distance but knowing what had happened there.  It truly is a mystery location.

How can you not title this page "A San Francisco Treat"?

A Bunch of Pages... Mackinac Island

So, for my regular followers, you are all well aware of the "100 pages before I buy again" challenge that I'm on.  I've been slacking in not posting my pages to my blog.  I, however, have not been slacking in the scrapbooking arena.

My last post was 11 of 100.  I have now completed 56.  So, I am over half way there!

I going to post some that I've not published yet and I'm going to do my best to group them by trip or occasion so they aren't all over the place.

First up...  Mackinac Island - Summer 2012

So, that gets me to 18 of100.  Keep coming back to see more.

Bumpy - CMS #28

Let me start out saying that I just LOVED this color combo at Color Me Scrappy.  Hello?  Who doesn't like a bright, cheery color combination when it is gray and gloomy outside.  That pretty much describes our Michigan weather, although this year, we've had some warm days.  I would prefer to have everything snow covered when the alternative is brown grass and leafless trees.

Check out this great color combo:

And my take:

This picture was taken at Coney Island in Cincinnati, Ohio.  It was the weekend before we moved back to Michigan and I really needed to get the boys out to do something fun!

My misting on the BG turned out a little pinker than I had hoped for, but oh well.

I love to use burlap on pages.  I don't do it often, but I really love the texture it gives the page.

A snippet of ribbon and a frame around the picture of the boys...  I remember taking quite a few pictures where they weren't even in the photo.  I was starting to get dizzy and I wasn't even on the ride!

It's hard to tell, but this "1, 2, 3, 4" is actually a piece of ribbon.  I remember having it WAY back when...  Can you say hoarder?

Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods!
