Check out this color palette from Color Me Scrappy!
This color palette really stumped me, I didn't know where to begin with this one. The inspiration picture was were I got my inspiration. It had an oriental feel to it, so I grabbed some pictures from our trip to San Francisco. These were from Chinatown.
I loved all the patterns on this page. It just has that oriental feel that I was going for. The streets were jam packed with color and patterns and I wanted that to come across on the page as well.
Thanks for stopping!

Every Prisoner's Dream
Where do you get your inspiration for a page? Does it come from sketches, color combinations, magazines?
I get my inspiration from various online challenge sites. You can find the challenge site I visit on a regular basis on the right column of my blog. Feel free to leave a comment of other sites you would recommend.
This page was inspired by a sketch from Creative Scrappers, sketch #241.
This picture was taken from Alcatraz looking toward San Francisco. We were told in our tour that when the windows were open in the prison, the prisoners could hear the nightlife of SF. They could hear music and laughter. Can you imagine the torture?

I struggled a bit with the page. I really liked the sketch, but it didn't just fall together as I would have expected. It didn't turn out the way I had envisioned.

1 Step at a Time
Do you scrap chronologically? I used to, but I always became bored with working on just one project at a time. I remember scrapping a trip to Arizona and grew very tired of using browns and greens on every page... or a trip to the ocean and using a lot of blues. So, I switched to scrapbooking whatever feels right. Especially with the online challenges that I participate in, sometimes a desert picture just doesn't go with a purple color combo.
So, by scrapbooking this way, my pages pile up before I can put them in albums. For the last week or so, I've had all my pages divided into piles on the dining room table. As I started to put them in their page protectors, I came to the realization that I clearly did not have enough albums. So off to JoAnn's I went, with coupon in hand! Now, I'm all stocked up and ready to go.
For those that are aware of the 100 page challenge before buying scrapbooking goodies, the purchase of albums does not violate this challenge.
So, moving on to page 2 of 100...
This was taken on Lombard St. in San Francisco.
This was my first time using modeling paste. It really makes a page heavy, but it was easy to use and easy clean up. I think I need to work on my application. Really, the thinner, the better. I like a bit of clumping, but what I was really going for here was to see the paper through the paste.
I guess I will just have to try it again...

Fresh H2O
If you read my blog on a regular basis, you are well aware of the '100 page' challenge that Pam and I are currently on. If not, let me give you a bit of a recap...
Since my scrappy room is bursting at the seems, Pam and I had decided that it would be best if we did not purchase anything scrapbooking related until we complete 50 pages. We met, one weekend, to scrapbook and decided that 50 pages really wasn't enough, so we doubled it. I know, call us crazy. Now, there is a few exceptions like glue, albums, and any staples that you have to have in order to accomplish our goal.
I actually bought 2 albums just this week, and can you believe that Pam made me text a copy of my receipt to her to prove I didn't buy anything else. Hmmm.
Okay, this is one of many posts. I have 24 pages that have not been posted yet, so my goal is to post one per day until I am caught up. So, come back often and check it out.

The Rock - CMS #24
I loved this color palette! I loved this color palette! Oh, have I mentioned that I loved this color palette at
This is the latest challenge at CMS, so get on over and submit your LO.
Isn't it just yummy and warm? You know, I live in Michigan, so the skies are dark and gray for the next 4 months or so, so these warm colors really warmed my heart.
Eric and I went to San Francisco / Napa for my 40th birthday and I just loved the tour we took of Alcatraz.
The history...
The mystery...
Amazing...

Coming Soon!
I've been so busy with Christmas that I've had limited time to scrap. But since after Christmas, I've been on a scrapping frenzy! I've managed, so far, the complete 22 pages!!! Be on the lookout for these pages, I'll be taking pictures and posting them here.
...
It seems I've only had time to fulfill my Color Me Scrappy commitments, but these 22 pages have inspiration from all over the web. My latest obsession is Pinterest. You can follow me here... click here!
...
My kids go back to school tomorrow and I'm hoping to post 5 or so pages a day until they've all been revealed.
...
One more big announcement... I'm on a buying boycott! Pam and I have decided that our scrappy spaces are literally bursting at the seams. We have vowed to not buy anything scrapbooking related until we complete 100 pages. Maybe that's why I've been on such a rampage?
We have a huge scrapbook convention that we go to in May and I NEED to complete these pages by then so I can buy the latest and greatest goodies! Wish me luck!

Precious Boys- CMS #23
Sometimes I find myself drawn to neutral colors, and other times, I'm drawn to bright vibrant tones. This time, I loved the color palette of Color Me Scrappy because of the bright cheerful colors that were in this palette.
In addition to the colors, we had to use a black BG. Now, mine is not solid black, but I thought this pattern reminded me of the ripples in the lake.
